Building Smiles, One Community at a Time

Build Your Smile Dental Foundation began with the simple mission of providing basic dental care to underserved and impoverished communities but quickly moved to include creating innovative solutions to deliver even more complex procedures. Their team of volunteers and partners around the globe believes that dental care is a basic human right and strives to bring quality dental care to everyone who needs it.

In late January 2024, Clinician’s Choice happily supported the Build Your Smile Dental Foundation with the mutual belief and mission of creating and supporting healthy smiles and making quality dental care a universal right for those worldwide. The Clinician’s Choice team sent several restorative dental products to their most recent outreach program in Uganda.

The outreach team arrived in Uganda on January 27^th and stayed for 14 days, and during that time they held a 1-day Symposium and a 2-day Implant Program for the local Dentists and Dental officers. Over the course of the 6 clinic days, they treated 700+ patients and provided 200+ fluoride treatments to children not in need of other services. In addition to dental care, the team also offered basic nutritional counselling, oral hygiene instructions, dental cleanings, restorations, same-day dentures, anterior implants, extractions, and fluoride treatments, and of course, a complimentary toothbrush to every patient.

Since 2018, the Build Your Smile Dental Foundation has been transforming communities in Uganda, thanks to the invaluable support of numerous dental professionals and partners. It is through the dedication of these volunteers that thousands of smiles have been treated, making a significant impact on the communities served.

Build Your Smile Dental Foundation’s commitment extends beyond immediate dental care. They partner with educational institutions in Uganda, empowering students and dental professionals to build their dental knowledge through workshops and training programs. Their ultimate goal is to make themselves obsolete in these communities, a testament to their dedication to sustainable change.
