Clinicians are constantly bombarded with information about a large number of
new material choices and techniques. The ability to filter through the hype and
advertising, and determine a course of action that is best for the patient is the key
to dental excellence.
This presentation focuses on using step–by–step techniques to create and prepare
conservative, yet beautiful, porcelain veneer restorations using 20 digital videos
filmed via dental microscope.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn a predictable system for preparing teeth for conservative porcelain veneers based upon the diagnostic matrix and various preparation stents
- Learn step–by–step techniques to fabricate excellent provisional restorations for porcelain veneers
- Learn the necessary step–by–step luting techniques to create long–term provisional restorations for porcelain veneers

- Preparation techniques for conservative veneers and porcelain crowns
- Tissue management, material selection, and predictable impression techniques
- Three predictable, step–by–step provisional techniques for veneers
- How to shoot specific digital photography to communicate shade and other key criteria to the dental laboratory
About the Speaker
A graduate from the University
of Toronto, Dr. Phelan is an
Accredited Member of the
American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry and one of a small
percentage of dentists to pass
on the first attempt. He has
trained extensively with some
of the world's best dental
educators, including Drs. Kois,
Spear, Dawson, Eubank, Morley,
Strupp, Mopper, and Fahl.
An international lecturer, Dr.
Phelan has published numerous
articles on esthetic dentistry
techniques, and was selected
as a winner in Straumann's
2005 Worldwide Aesthetic
Case Competition. His private
practice in Oakville, Ontario
focuses on esthetic, restorative,
and implant dentistry.
