The Link Between Material Selection, Quality Control, and Improving Practice Profitability

Featuring Stace D. Lind

Day 3
Saturday, November 8
8:00 am – 1:00 pm

Every dental material we buy has a direct bearing on the quality of our dentistry, our chair-side efficiency, and ultimately on the profitability level of the practice. Likewise, our office procedures and structures impact our ability to attract new patients, retain current patients, and achieve a higher ratio of treatment plan acceptance.

I. Materials

The truth is, 'what you don't know really does affect you'! This portion of the presentation will examine the different approaches to material selection and why we buy what we buy. Why is chemistry more important than the company? How do you select the right materials to improve dental delivery and chair–side efficiency, while also increasing practice profitability?

II. Practice Management Systems

How can you change traditional practice structures and increase staff efficiencies at every level? How can you improve the patient's acceptance of care and commitment to keeping appointments, and how do you put the proper front desk structure in place to enhance scheduling and patient retention? Participants will uncover easy techniques for moving more cases from "the charts to the chair", using simple, effective communication in your case presentation and treatment planning discussions. In addition, attendees will see how tracking numbers properly can translate into increased profitability and decrease scheduling stress for your practice team.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will understand:

  • Which materials and material chemistries will decrease chair time for you and your patient, while improving the quality and the longevity of your restorations
  • How to properly use the materials you choose, and eliminate delivery techniques that can interfere with the quality of your work
  • How to put the right systems and structures in place to deliver excellent dentistry day after day
  • How to track office numbers and how to use them to improve profitability without causing disruption and upheaval in your practice.
  • New ways to improve practice efficiency — from the first appointment call to completion of treatment
  • How to successfully use non-confrontational communication approaches to increase treatment plan acceptance and completion with your current patient list
