DR JEFFREY LINDEN
BIO
Jeffrey Linden received his MMSc in Oral Biology from Harvard in 1980. He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Columbia School of Dental and Oral Surgery and an Attending Endodontist at St. Barnabus Hospital at Cornell Medical Center, Long Island Jewish-North Shore at Saten Island University Hospital and Jacobi Hospital of Albert Einstein Medical Center. Dr. Linden maintains a private practice limited to Endodontics in Manhattan, lecturing frequently on clinical endodontic techniques. He continues as a visiting lecturer at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and continually contributes and edits clinically relevant dental articles in national and international dental journals.
COURSE OUTLINE:
With the introduction of “Controlled Memory” Infinite Flex NiTi, we now have an instrument that can aggressively cut with less fatigue, stress and torsional forces. This enables navigation of endodontic complexities easily with a file that stays on path. Dr. Linden will guide us through a simple yet sophisticated approach: Biologically Optimal Preparations using “Controlled Memory” NiTi, Biomechanical irrigation with apical negative pressure to deliver abundant irrigation and disinfection from orifice to apex; and optimal obturation. The afternoon hands-on workshop will teach effective irrigation techniques, shaping the root canal system using instruments made from Controlled Memory NiTi, the use of ultrasonics, and three dimensional vertical compaction of Gutta Percha obturation cordless obturation systems. An open discussion with questions and answers will follow the hands-on portion.
The Attendees Will Learn:
• How to prevent early endodontic failure by adherence to sound principles of treatment planning, irrigation, canal shape and correct apical size, while preserving radicular tooth structure
• How to minimize mishaps by understanding the inherent properties and behaviour of NiTi instruments and irregular root canal morphology
• How to obturate in 3 dimensions successfully in varying canal shapes
Attendees are asked to bring 2 or 3 accessed extracted teeth– anteriors are required, a molar is optional.
If you wear magnification loupes while practicing, we recommend you bring them.
